ESPN is the home to 100 exclusive games through the 2026-27 NHL season, including an opening-night tripleheader, the fourth edition of NHL Frozen Frenzy, the return of Honda NHL All-Star Weekend and the 2027 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Here's what to know about ESPN's NHL slate for the upcoming season. When does the season begin? The season starts Tuesday, Sept. 29. How can fans watch? 53 matchups will be available on ESPN and ABC, while the remaining 47 matchups can be streamed on ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu. All games will be available on the ESPN App through an ESPN Unlimited plan subscription or pay TV authentication. Additionally, NHL Power Play on the ESPN App returns with 1,050-plus out-of-market games and is available to all ESPN DTC subscribers. What is the schedule?
