PGA -- 06/20 07:17 -- by Doug Greenberg
With a four-shot lead heading into the weekend, Wyndham Clark is the clear favorite to win the 2026 U.S. Open, showing +188 odds to lift the trophy. Clark won the 2023 U.S. Open as a pre-tournament 100-1 long shot, but came into this week's competition at Shinnecock Hills at a much more manageable 45-1. Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick are in the first trailing group at 3-under, and also comprise the next tier of betting contenders at +620 and +670, respectively. Fitzpatrick was a popular pick among the betting public heading into the competition and was one of the largest liabilities at BetMGM. Scottie Scheffler , the pretournament +450 favorite, got himself back into striking distance with a 2-under second round and now has the fourth-best odds to win the U.S. Open at +910. Collin Morikawa (+1375) and Rory McIlroy (+1475) round out the golfers better than 20-1.
