Amorim off to winning start in Serie A as Milan take away win at Torino

Ruben Amorim's substitutes proved key as his AC Milan reign started with a 2-1 win at Torino in Serie A . Adrien Rabiot made an instant impression off the bench, setting up Alphadjo Cisse's 64th-minute opener and then quickly adding a second. Scotland striker Che Adams hooked home a brilliant goal in the last minute of stoppage time, but it was too little too late for the hosts. Amorim's Manchester United reign started with a Marcus Rashford goal after 81 seconds at Ipswich -- and he almost had a faster start in Italy as 19-year-old Cisse steered a shot into the side-netting after 71 seconds.

But an early goal eluded the Rossoneri against a well-drilled Torino, who were playing their first competitive game under former Milan player and academy coach Ignazio Abate. Converted right wing-back Samuel Chukwueze looked the most likely source of a Milan goal and he was denied by goalkeeper Diego Mascardi in the 30th minute after a surging run into the Torino area. The game changed after Amorim brought on 40-year-old midfielder Luka Modric and France midfielder Rabiot in the 57th minute. Rabiot -- after a brilliant surging run from United States midfielder Yunus Musah -- saw his cross from the right lashed home by Cisse for his first Serie A goal. And three minutes later Modric found Chukwueze on the right and his teasing cross was headed home by Rabiot. Torino rallied with impressive substitute Alieu Njie hitting a post and Zakaria Aboukhlal somehow firing wide from point-blank range, before Adams' fine effort finally found a way past Mike Maignan .
